The special seaweed park which was announced in the Union Budget will provide employment to fisherwomen besides offering them good opportunities to attain economic development, Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Information & Broadcasting Dr L Murugan said today.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today offered special prayers at the Kedarnath temple in Uttarakhand. He also inaugurated a statue of Sri Adi Sankaracharya and his renovated samadhi. The event was aired live at Sri Ramanatha Swamy temple in Rameswaram, which houses one of the 12 Jothirlingams. Dr L Murugan, who watched the event, also witnessed cultural programmes that followed. He also offered prayers at Sri Ramanatha Swamy temple.
Speaking to journalists, he said that idea behind the initiative was to make the youngsters realise the culture and tradition of the country. Recalling that the Centre had mad announcement on special seaweed park, he said preliminary works have started.
“Inspection woks are being carried out to finalise the coastal area for the park. The facility will provide employment to fisherwomen besides offering them good opportunities to attain economic development”, the Union Minister of State said.
Dr L Murugan, who then took part in various events in Rameswaram, met representatives of the fishing community at the Travellers’ Bungalow and listened to their grievances. They requested him to take steps to increase the subsidy being given to deep sea fishing boats under Prime Minister’s Fishing Development Scheme. The Minister said that a report in this regard was sought from the Kochi Shipyard and the subsidy would be hiked after the report was submitted

பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி உத்தராகண்ட் மாநிலத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள கேதார்நாத் கோவிலில் இன்று காலை சிறப்பு வழிபாடு செய்தார். பின்னர் அங்கு புனரமைக்கப்பட்ட ஆதிசங்கரர் நினைவிடத்தையும் அவரது முழுஉருவ சிலையையும் திறந்து வைத்தார். இந்த நிகழ்ச்சி இந்தியாவில் உள்ள பன்னிரு ஜோதிலிங்க தலங்களில் ஒன்றான இராமேஸ்வரம் அருள்மிகு இராமநாதசுவாமி திருக்கோவிலில் நேரலையாக ஒளிபரப்பப்பட்டது. மத்திய இணை அமைச்சர் டாக்டர் எல்.முருகன் நேரலையாக ஒளிபரப்பப்பட்ட இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியை இந்தக் கோவிலிலிருந்து கண்டுகளித்தார். பின்னர் நடைபெற்ற கலைநிகழ்ச்சிகளையும் அவர் பார்வையிட்டார். பின்னர் அருள்மிகு இராமநாதசுவாமி திருக்கோவிலில் அமைச்சர் வழிபாடு நடத்தினார்.
பின்னர் செய்தியாளர்களிடம் பேசிய எல் முருகன், நாட்டின் கலாச்சாரத்தையும், பண்பாட்டையும் இளைஞர்கள் தெரிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்ற செய்தி இதன் மூலம் பிரபலப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளதாக கூறினார்.
மத்திய அரசு கடந்த பட்ஜெட்டில் கடற்பாசி சிறப்பு பூங்கா அமைப்பதற்கான அறிவிப்பை வெளியிட்டுள்ளதாகவும், அதற்கான ஆரம்ப கட்ட பணிகள் நடைபெற்று வருவதாகவும் கூறிய அவர், இந்த பூங்காவை எந்த கடலோரப் பகுதியில் அமைப்பது என்று ஆய்வுப் பணிகள் நடைபெற்று வருவதாகத் தெரிவித்தார். இந்த கடற்பாசி பூங்கா மூலம் மீனவ மகளிருக்கு வேலைவாய்ப்பு கிடைப்பதுடன் அவர்கள் பொருளாதாரத்தில் முன்னேறுவதற்கான வாய்ப்பாக அமையவுள்ளது என்று அமைச்சர் கூறினார்.
பின்னர் இராமேஸ்வரத்தில் இன்று பல்வேறு நிகழ்சிகளில் கலந்து கொண்ட மத்திய தகவல் ஒலிபரப்பு, மீன்வளம், கால்நடை மற்றும் பால்வளத்துறை இணையமைச்சர் டாக்டர் எல்.முருகன் அரசு விருந்தினர் மாளிகையில் மீனவ பிரதிநிதிகளை சந்தித்தார். பின்னர் அவர்களின் கோரிக்கைகளை கேட்டறிந்தார். மீனவ சங்கத் தலைவர்கள், மத்திய அரசின் பிரதம மந்திரி மீன்வள மேம்பாட்டு திட்டத்தின் கீழ் வழங்கப்படும் ஆழ்கடல் மீன்பிடி படகுகளுக்கான மானியத்தை உயர்த்தி வழங்குமாறு கோரிக்கை விடுத்தனர். அதற்கு அமைச்சர் இது தொடர்பாக கொச்சி படகுகட்டும் தளத்தில் அறிக்கை கேட்டுள்ளதாகவும், அதன்பிறகு தொகை உயர்த்தி வழங்கப்படும் என்றும் தெரிவித்தார்.
